Maybe there's hope for "The Amazing Spider-Man" yet

I’ve been excited about exactly two summer movies this year. Maybe you’ve read a few mentions of the first one. The second is not “The Amazing Spider-Man.” I’ll go more into this with my Film Flashbacks later, but Andrew Garfield aside, I just wasn’t convinced this was going to provide the Spider-Man I’ve wanted to see onscreen.

The latest trailer seems all very Spidey-generic with lots of CGI flipping and web-shooting, but it’s already one-upped the Sam Rami trilogy by actually have Spider-Man … make … jokes. Wacky. That awesome personality trait that makes Spider-Man such a fun and likable character. Seriously that’s all I needed to actually make me want to see this movie now when it releases on July 3.
