Very slow week for new releases this week, which is odd considering there’s no big competition at the box office in the last few weeks before “The Dark Knight Rises” comes to theaters.

Ah remember the buzz around Chris Klein, Mena Suvari and Tara Reid following the first “American Pie?” And how they were going to be at the forefront of the next wave of actors who’d be headlining films for the next decade or so? Well that didn’t exactly happen, so after skipping 2003′s “American Wedding,” they all seemed to welcome the opportunity to return for the 2012 fourth installment of the “American Pie” series. No, I’m not counting those quick money grab spin-offs that just follow Jim’s dad advising fourth- or fifth-cousins. This time out the gang reunites for their high school reunion.
This was one of the few early movies I didn’t see and want to and word-of-mouth on it was pretty strong so I plan to see it soon and likely review it since I’ve enjoyed the series.
