Just thought this was cool enough to share. After the insanity in Aurora, Colorado, “The Dark Knight Rises” star Christian Bale did more than send well-wishes, thoughts and tweets to the theater shooting victims.
According to The Denver Post, Bale visited seven patients injured in the shooting for about two-and-a-half hours.
“The patients were really happy to meet Bale,” Bill Voloch, interim president of Medical Center of Aurora, told the Post.
The Post also spoke to a Warner Bros. employee that said “Mr. Bale is there as himself, not representing Warner Bros.” Warner Bros. has also pledged to make donations to charities to help the shooting victims. It’s an interesting move as it’s hard to somehow find a way to place blame on the studio for the shooting and I’ll opt for being non-cynical and say it’s a thoughtful gesture.
The DenverChannel tweeted a picture of Bale with the staff. I can be hard on celebrities for the “dream world” they live in, but it’s really commendable to see Bale do more than the basic and acceptable gesture and try to help encourage the victims the best way he knows how. Even more so for the fact that he asked the hospital staff not to inform the media of his visit so it didn’t come across as some glorified publicity stunt.

What an incredibly nice gesture. He gets a lot of bad press, but this one act shows he is actually a nice guy when it matters.
As you said, there’s no way to say the terrible events were the fault of the batman movies, just the whim of a madman, but it’s nice to see Bale doing this.
Well done to him.

Chris Bale is my favorite actor, after watching the Bat trilogy, 3:10 to Yuma, The Machinist. His performance in TDKR is probably his best in the trilogy.
This gesture shows what a great human being he is.
Hats off, Mr. Bale!

He’s right up there with Johnny Depp and Denzel Washington. Bale’s awesome at varying his look too so he’s not carrying the same appearance in each film.
Christian Bale may be Batman, but he’s a super man « Jeffrey K. Lyles' Movie Files
