[From left] Ada Wong (Li Bing Bing) is led by Umbrella agents Rain (Michelle Rodriquez), Jill Valentine (Sienna Guillory), One (Colin Salmon) and Carlos (Oded Fehr).
Typically by this time I’d have posted the review for this Friday’s new releases, but Screen Gems opted not to hold press screenings for “Resident Evil: Retribution.” That’s translated in movie review speak as an abomination of a movie that the companies are so desperate for each movie ticket sale that they want the critics to have to pay for the right to warn others not to see it.
Normally, I don’t bother rewarding that moronic mindset. If the people involved with the product are too ashamed of it to put it before the critics, then why bother making it in the first place? It’s not like every critic will hate on it. Some actually liked “Battleship!”
Anyway, I’m still debating whether to see “Retribution,” but this latest image is making me lean more towards checking it out as we’ve got “Resident Evil 2″ femme fatale Ada Wong, game series mainstay Jill Valentine in her “Resident Evil 5″ attire complete with mind control gem and Umbrella agents Rain and One as well as mercenary Carlos. Best of all? No Alice… for at least 10 seconds. I’m sure she’ll come crashing in to save the say and free Ada.

Luther (Boris Kodjoe), Becky (Aryana Engineer), Alice (Milla Jovovich), Rain (Michelle Rodriguez) and Leon (Johann Urb) enter the Soviet Facility.
This second photo is also intriguing as it features another of my favorite characters from the game – Leon Kennedy – apparently in the middle of an intense firefight alongside Luther, Alice and Rain. If you look closely in the back you’ll see Barry Burton’s vest so nice to see the S.T.A.R.S. member getting a bit of love in the series finally.
So since Alice doesn’t look to be saving the day in every scene I may have to check this one out tonight or tomorrow and if so, I’ll have the review up by Sunday. Course I’m just as likely to play “Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare” to get my zombie fix in somehow so we’ll see how the weekend goes…

That purple suit looks nice…

Yeah they did a nice job translating that from the game.

I’ve seen the Hot Toys Jill Valentine. I love that suit. I have a custom clothed Hot Toys Alice in my Detolf, standing next to Babydoll, Amber, and “Babydoll in Superman costume”. They are the entire lineup of my “superhero gals” shelf…

Cool display. What do you use for yours?
Sep 14, 2012 @ 18:18:43
It’s a “detolf” display cabinet available from Ikea. Four shelves and you can use the top too(although it’s not enclosed). I have Wolverine, Future Foundation Spidey, Magneto and Red Skull on the top shelf, Amber, Babydoll, Alice and “Super Babydoll” on the second shelf, Superman Returns Supes and Iron Man MKVI on shelf three, and three Tron Legacy toys on the bottom.

Ah yes the Detolf. I’ve got one in my living room. Those are great display cases! Nice collection!

Thanks. 6 out of 10 of them are just customs where i purchased the parts to make my own variants. Superman, Iron Man, Babydoll and Amber are the only full figures i bought(Although IM MKVI has a MKIV Tony head on him, and Superman has a “2-in-1″ head on him because i prefer those looks).

RE Retribution was an excellent movie.

Glad to hear it. Not seeing it this weekend obviously, but will soon.
