Sideshow Collectibles reveals Star Wars Padawan Obi-Wan sixth-scale collectible

Eventually I’ll have to post my super biased reviews of the “Star Wars” saga, but for now I’ll just be content posting interesting “Star Wars” items. My least favorite of the six and pretty much most people is “Episode I – The Phantom Menace.” Mind you, I don’t loathe it like some and feel like George Lucas murdered/vaporized/incinerated my childhood with the prequels so I’m not as hard on it as some might be either.

One aspect I would have loved to have seen explored a bit more was the relationship between Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson, “The Grey“) and his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) before Anakin comes around. There was definitely some unexplored territory there, especially since Neeson was so amazing as Qui-Gon and his chemistry was McGregor was excellent.

Today, Sideshow Collectibles revealed another figure from “The Phantom Menace” — Obi-Wan Kenobi during his Padawan apprenticeship under Qui-Gon.

I’ve got the Qui-Gon and Darth Maul figures from Sideshow and they’re two of my favorite 12″ Star Wars figures so I’m looking forward to adding this to my display and set up a “Duel of the Fates.”

The likeness captured a perfect young Ewan McGregor and the outfit has all the details I’ve come to expect from Sideshow complete with removable robes, Force gesturing hands and Padawan braid.
