First look at "Rise of the Guardians"

Finally it’s time for a non-Disney/Pixar animated film I’m really excited about! A holiday all-star  film featuring the characters we all heard about and “encountered” as we were growing up coming together for an action movie. The character designs are very inspired – I especially like the samurai-influence on The Easter Bunny.

DreamWorks Animation
Jamie (Dakota Goyo) awakens to find The Guardians—Tooth (Isla Fisher), Jack Frost (Chris Pine), North (Alec Baldwin), Sandman and Bunnymund (Hugh Jackman)—in his bedroom in DreamWorks Animation’s RISE OF THE GUARDIANS to be released by Paramount Pictures.

RISE OF THE GUARDIANS is an epic and magical adventure that tells the story of Santa Claus (Alec Baldwin), the Easter Bunny (Hugh Jackman), the Tooth Fairy (Isla Fisher), the Sandman, and Jack Frost (Chris Pine) – legendary characters with previously unknown extraordinary abilities. When an evil spirit known as Pitch (Jude Law) lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children everywhere.

I’m looking forward to this one as this is the kind of unique concept that could make for a fun kid’s movie.

DreamWorks Animation
[From right] Tooth (Isla Fisher) is amazed by Jack Frost’s (Chris Pine) perfect teeth in DreamWorks Animation’s RISE OF THE GUARDIANS to be released by Paramount Pictures.

Based on the success of “Hotel Transylvania,” which also featured a gathering of popular pop culture characters, I’d imagine this should do pretty well for DreamWorks when it arrives on Nov. 21. Just in time to give you something to do before Thanksgiving dinner.
