I’ve been watching wrestling since Hulk Hogan beat The Iron Shiek for the WWF World Title. A very cool introduction to the world of “sports entertainment.” I started going beyond the WWF in late 87 thanks to getting cable and being able to watch World Class Championship Wrestling. The WCCW product I really became enamored with was shifting the focus away from the Von Erichs brothers and turning more to former heel Eric Embry and his equally hated, but now beloved manager Percy Pringle (William Moody) in a battle for control of the company from the hated Skandar Akbar in what would become one of my favorite feuds.

A few years later, Pringle turned up in with jet black hair in the WWF as Paul Bearer, manager to The Undertaker.
I thought the Paul Bearer character would dramatically hinder Pringle’s natural Bobby Heenan-like charisma, which it did for awhile until the Attitude Era when Paul became one of the more entertaining non-wrestling personalities of the most revered time frame in WWF/WWE history.
