In Bloomberg Businessweek, George Lucas said: “We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison — or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation.”
And likely realizing the statement would spread through the web faster than Order 66, Lucas backed off a bit, according to BB saying “Maybe I’m not supposed to say that. I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them. … I won’t say whether the negotiations were successful or not.”
Good one George.
So now all of us “Star Wars” fanatics can breathe easy now and just wait for the “official announcement” as well as beginning the rumor mill for when Billy Dee Williams (Lando), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) Anthony Daniels (C3-P0) and Kenny Baker (R2-D2) will sign on.
