Yo Joe! Hot Toys reveals Joe Colton (Bruce Willis) 12" figure from "G.I. Joe: Retaliation"

Hot Toys GI Joe Retaliation Joe Colton with gunHot Toys revealed their 12″ Joe Colton figure from its “G.I. Joe Retaliation” line.

Hot Toys GI Joe Retaliation Joe Colton close upIt’s an uncanny likeness to Bruce Willis and probably one of Hot Toys’ best, but there’s just something about this figure that’s a little underwhelming to me and kinda boring.

It’s not Hot Toys’ fault as they could only do so much considering the source material, but Colton doesn’t even have any compelling accessories to get you off the fence.

Here’s Hot Toys’ official synopsis:

There is one man that Roadblock and his teammates can trust in G.I. Joe Retaliation and it is none other than the original G.I. Joe himself. Hot Toys is proud to present the 1/6th scale Joe Colton Collectible Figure as one of the 2013 Toy Fairs Exclusive items.

We know fans have been waiting for a collectible figure featuring the acclaimed Hollywood movie star Bruce Willis’ likeness and we are happy to let you all know that the collectible figure based on Joe Colton from G.I. Joe Retaliation is finally here.

Based on the icon brand from Hasbro, the movie-accurate Joe Colton collectible figure features a highly detailed head sculpt, tailored costume, weapons and accessories.

What do you think? Excited about it or underwhelmed like me?

Meh… Bruce Willis’ ONE good line in the movie they ruined by putting it in the trailer. I hat e to post just to say this is a fail and a total pass for me, but… There you go. I am sure there will be loads of people wanting the head for a “squinty old John MaClaine” custom. But it won’t be me.
I did like Evil Superman though. ^_^

  • None of this year’s SDCC Hot Toys exclusives blew me away, ‘Evil Superman’ could have if it would have came with light up eye features and an alternate ‘Clark Kent’ head sculpt. As far ‘Cap’ i’m cool, already have the ‘Avengers’ version and the next version i’m planning on getting is the ‘Winter Soldier’ version most likely. The ‘Joe Colton’ looks pretty good with a good likeness to Willis, but i’m not a big fan of the “GI Joe” films so i’ll be passing. What about you Jeff, planning on getting any of these convention exclusives this year.

  • Definitely with you man. The only one that intrigues me is the Captain America one.

  • What Jeff, you’re feeling ‘Evil Superman’ baby, ha-ha. Hot Toys really dropped the ball on that figure in my opinion, they should have weathered the figure more and change the head sculpt instead of recycling the original Chistopher Reeve head sculpt. And when will Hot Toys finally use some common sense and add light up eye features to the Superman figures, afterall his heat vision is his biggest arsenal outside of his strength and speed.

  • Oops, I meant to say ‘you’re not feeling’ Evil Superman.

  • Yeah. A snarled, angry Superman face would have worked better. This one just looks like he hasn’t washed his uniform in a week and forgot to shave.

  • Hot Toys got real lazy when they should have knocked this one out the park. It’s like they told us here suckers cough A-hem I mean dear collectors, we now present to you Evil Superman, ha-ha. It’s the exact same headsculpt with a little 5 o’clock shade, a weak looking one at it. They should have made a more defined evil head sculpt, with more a weathered costume and boots. Also they should have featured light up eye features this time around, this could have really been a great piece. Now don’t get me wrong, the figure looks good overall, it’s just not Evil Superman, not the one we all know. I’m not excited about none of the SDCC exclusives this year, but at least ‘Cap’ & ‘GI Joe’ give us exactly what we seen on the big screen, unlike Evil Superman.
