Who you gonna call for boring blockbusters? #Ghostbusters returns to theaters this summer

Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray and Dan Akroyd in Ghostbusters

Yep, the boys will indeed be back in town this summer for a limited time only.

To commemorate the legendary 80s sci-fi classic’s 30th anniversary, “Ghostbusters” will return to 700 American theaters on Aug. 29.

Additionally, a 30th anniversary special edition Blu-Ray, which also includes the 1989 sequel, is coming Sept. 19. The sequel’s bonus features contains a talk with Dan Aykroyd and Director Ivan Reitman. I always hate the anniversary Blu-Ray releases as it feels like yet another money grab from the studios. It’s not like these deleted scenes were tucked away in some storage room and someone found them last year.

Still, it’s pretty cool to be able to see this back on the big screen again. Who’s gonna go check it out?

  1. I had not upgraded yet so I am going to hold out until sept. Oddly enough, I chose ghostbusters as the movie to show at the library in August lol! What a crazy random happenstance !!

    1. Nice. When I got them, they were also in a dual pack so I’m curious just how much different it will be. Please tell me you’ll have some older lady walking around when you get to the library scene. :-)

Alright, so what do you think?
