Garfield talks Spidey/Avengers plans
Rumors are flying that Sony Pictures, being sensible business folks, realize being on #TeamMarvel is a lot smarter than trying to out-Fox them. Sony is reportedly working on a deal with Marvel Studios to share its Spider-Man movie license — a move that could lead to Spider-Man appearing in the Marvel Studios’ Avengers-universe.
I’m not necessarily that big on Spider-Man joining The Avengers — I’ve always liked him better on his own — but I’d love to watch Andrew Garfield’s Spidey cracking jokes on Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and getting tongue tied around Black Widow. Of course, the real money scene is Spidey teaming with Hulk.
Here’s what he had to say on the possibility of joining up with The Avengers:
‘I’d love to see [Spider-Man] with The Avengers,’ Andrew Garfield said during the Sony Pictures panel discussion of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 at the 2013 Comic-Con. ‘Wouldn’t that just be awesome? Just saying.’
Seems like Garfield may have been trying to get that wheel rolling for awhile. What do you think? Is Spidey a good fit for The Avengers or would you rather see him on his own?
