Black Panther” finally has some competition for the 2017 film I’m most looking forward to seeing as Disney announced another of its big franchises not affiliated with Marvel superheroes, is coming to theaters in June 2017.

Bob Iger, Disney chief Bob Iger announced that “Toy Story” Director John Lasseter, who handled the first two installments of the beloved franchise, will return to direct the fourth full-length adventure of Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the gang.

After “Toy Story 3” earned over $1 billion at the box office it was just a matter of time for the announcement, but now we’ve got a set date. Is it too early to start that countdown?

“Toy Story 4” means another box office smash and a very strong contender for biggest film of 2017.

  • Yep. It’s crazy how early movie announcements are coming these days, isn’t it?

  • We’re announcing movies way too far out nowadays. 3 years? Anyhoo, this news is both exciting and scary. The trilogy is so great as it is. I hope this one can measure up, but those are big shoes to fill.

  • Yeah it is getting a bit hard to keep up with the announcements, but DC/WB has them beat with Cyborg and Green Lantern announced for 2020.

  • Fred

Haha yeah Jeff DC/WB is planning way ahead, I guess they we’re trying to one up Marvel with their slate of films. I don’t mind though, if you truly have a vision and a plan sketched out why not be ambitious.

  • Hey, just gives me something to look forward to so I’m not complaining 😉
