Hot Toys Tony Stark Iron Man 2 collectible figure

Hot Toys Tony Stark Iron Man 2 figure - working on reactor

Hot Toys has been cranking out a lot of new reveals this week and this is another Iron Man figure, but one from “Iron Man 2 (Three-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo)” instead of the never-ending well of “Iron Man 3 (Blu-ray / DVD Combo Pack).”

In Iron Man 2, Tony Stark was being slowly poisoned to death by the palladium arc reactor in his body, but with the help of the information left by Howard Stark, Tony was able to create a new element for use in a new Arc Reactor. The scene greatly displayed Tony Stark’s immense intelligence when he re-discovered and created a new element by using a particle accelerator.

Just when you think they can’t pull another rabbit from their sleeve, they do this…

  • Exactly! This is a nice looking figure and all the light up parts!!

  • Barry Murray

Just when you think they have finally nailed the RDJ likeness, they bring this out and show that they can always do better!

  • It does look like one of the best. Now I’m curious as to how great the next one will look.

  • Barry Murray

Well if you are thinking to that(And they are going to fill in all the Tony looks from other movies), we are “missing” the IM1 Tony with the black suit(From before he was kidnapped, although technically, that wouldn’t be Iron Man, lol), post-kidnap, but pre-escape “building the MKI” Tony, Tony with the suit and the gantry from IM2, Avengers “rooftop Tony with Gantry+MKVI” and “suiting up in the MKVII” Tony, with a MKVII that can be folded partly around him.

  • That kidnap look would probably be the best bet and most unique. What do you think?

  • Barry Murray

Loads of ways they could go. And they haven’t done an IM2 Stark Racing Tony yet.

  • Geesh you’re right. That would be fun too!

  • Barry Murray

Seeing this figure get a release shows their dedication to cover the entire line of Tony variants(I mean, there are people out there still upset the milk exclusive Tony never got a wider release), so i am sure they will gauge how well this set does, and plan for others accordingly.

  • I’m surprised we haven’t gotten one Pepper and Happy as well. Would you grab them?

  • Barry Murray

I’d be tempted with Pepper and Happy. Although if there were geed sculpts available, i’d happily bash my own.
I just made an Alfred and Bruce display. It will look cool when i get all my Batman figures up from work finally(Just waiting on the glass sides and doors for my cabinet).

  • Nice!
How long until you get your Batman figures?

  • Barry Murray

Well i already have them. They are still on a shelf at work till the glass arrives for the cabinet!!! It was supposed to be here last week. As it is, it’s going to be a three man job to build it up, and my Brother and his wife are going to the US for christmas and the new year, so i will have to wait till he comes back to build it, regardless of when the glass arrives now.

  • Ah, I gotcha.
He’s gonna be gone for awhile on you, huh?

  • Barry Murray

Just over two weeks. Not long, lol. But if the glass arrives the day after he leaves, it will seem like forever.
