Don’t look now, but that long-rumored all-female “Ghostbusters” film may finally be taking shape.
According to Variety, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones are in early negotiations to star in the “Ghostbusters” reboot. Of the foursome, only McCarthy was not a “Saturday Night Live” alum or current star.
Paul Feig, who previously collaborated with McCarthy and Wiig on “Bridesmaids (Blu-ray + DVD),” will be directing and Katie Dippold (“The Heat (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD)“)
This has potential, but I hated the Dippold’s script for “The Heat,” so the dialogue is my biggest concern. Well, that and potentially ruining the franchise’s good name.
Hopefully the film will still be able to find room for a cameo by the original surviving trio of Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson.
