Kneejerk reactions to ‘Jem & The Holograms’ trailer

Hmmn. I didn’t think it was possible to screw up Jem & The Holograms, but man if this doesn’t look like it’s been stripped of every bit of fun of the cartoon in an attempt to take another beloved 80s property and make it serious for the real world. Jem and The HologramsIt may be a fine little singalong movie for 2015, but this is not my Jem — despite the lame effort to cater to the old fans with the ‘Showtime Syngery’ line. And I won’t even go into the lack of The Misfits. I should just grab this instead so I won’t be so disappointed. • Jace

This thing looks like less fun version of Josie and the Pussycats.

  • Exactly. I don’t get why they’d bother getting the Jem license to make it generic rocker chick movie. :-/
