CBS announces Flash/Supergirl crossover

While it initially seemed far-fetched, The Flash will be making a run to National City as part of a crossover with Supergirl.

CBS made the announcement today that Grant Gustin’s CW Flash character is coming to sister station CBS’ Supergirl for a March 28 episode.

grant gustin and melissa benoist“We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we starting making Supergirl,” Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, who are executive producers on both series, said in a statement. “We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out. And finally, thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen,” the statement continued. “It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone’s enthusiasm and support.”

No news on if the rest of Team Flash will be making the trip as well, but I’d love to see a Cisco/Winn scene. And while I’m adding cast members, I’ll just go all the way and start wondering how soon before CW/CBS goes all the way and does a massive Justice League special with Green Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Martian Manhunter, Firestorm, Black Canary, Atom and Hawkgirl.

What do you think of the news?

Barry’s suggestion would actually be really cool in the multiverse universe of Flash. It can also help explain why none of those guys and girls are in the Justice League movie in March ?

We’ll just call that movie universe Earth-42
