Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits Blu-Ray April 5

I still contend the best way to watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens is on the big screen, but for those of you ready to do seven-film marathons (I won’t judge), we’re just a little over a month away from buying it for home video.

Robert Iger, the chairman and CEO of Walt Disney Company announced today that the wait for the Blu-Ray/DVD and Digital HD will be coming April 5 and April 1 respectively. I’m surprised we’re getting it so soon considering the all-time highest grossing domestic film just fell out of the Top 10 last weekend. I’m wondering if this isn’t a plan to take away some of the potential box office haul of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which comes to theaters a week earlier.
