That sound you heard was coming from New England as thousands of Patriots fans are hoping the Madden Cover Jinx doesn’t resurface with the reveal of tight end Rob Gronkowski being named the Madden NFL 17 cover star.
“It’s a really special honor to appear on the cover of Madden NFL 17,” Gronkowski said in a statement. “It’s one of those things that pretty much every guy in the league secretly dreams of, so to actually be the one on the cover, it’s a really big deal.”
Continuing efforts that were a major focus in last year’s edition, the running game is being refined again with an expansion of ball carrier special moves that gives players more creative controls on the ground. Other features include a new path assist feature and new defensive AI. Last year’s edition fared very well with fans and critics so it’ll be interesting to see how NFL 17 improves on an already acclaimed effort.
