Han Solo and Chewbacca join Hot Toys Force Awakens collection
Just as we were enjoying meeting the new kids, Star Wars: Force Awakens got even better with the return of Han Solo and Chewbacca. Hot Toys brings the older versions of our childhood favorites in the ongoing Force Awakens collection.
This set really looks impressive. Best of all, this set covers all their respective looks from the film. I shudder to think how bad I’ll be when Hot Toys gets to Empire Strikes Back. The standard look is a must, but Hoth parka and pre-Carbonite could suck me in too.
The latest entry to the Star Wars saga, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, has broken numerous box-office records around the world! The return of the original cast have been one of the biggest highlights of the epic blockbuster and Sideshow and Hot Toys are very excited to introduce a special collectible set featuring the new sixth scale collectible figures of Han Solo and Chewbacca from Star Wars: The Force Awakens!
The highly-accurate Han Solo collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of Harrison Ford as Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and features a newly developed head sculpt and hands, a specially tailored outfit and winter gear, all-new blaster pistol, and a specially designed figure stand.
The highly-accurate Chewbacca collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of the Wookiee warrior in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and features a new face sculpt with articulated jaw, newly developed multiple layers of fabric hair with various shades of brown throughout the whole body capturing Chewbacca’s unique appearance, all-new bowcaster and bandolier bag, and a specially designed figure stand.
This collectible set will additionally include 3 thermal detonators, a remote detonator, and 2 Starkiller Base-themed bases attachable to Han Solo and Chewbacca’s hexagonal figure stands as bonus accessories.
There might be some slight sticker shock here for those grabbing the two pack. And truthfully, $519 is a lot of money. It’s definitely more than the $474 the Star Wars version two pack cost. But the additional accessories look to cover that cost. Han’s winter Starkiller base jacket likely is responsible for a lot of the upcharge.
And from having the Star Wars set, I can vouch for a complete lack of buyer’s remorse. Good luck trying to find a Han Solo for under $380. I’m real close to biting on this set. What’s everyone else think?
