DC Collectibles sent along an updated release schedule for its DC Icons and Batman: The Animated Series lines. There’s a few delays, most notably for Icons Series 5.
Originally that wave was scheduled for September. Now we’re going to have to wait until April 2017 to get them. That’s a bummer since that’s one of the strongest lineups in the series so far. That wave is comprised of Wonder Woman (based off Jason Fabok’s design), Cyborg (New 52), Deathstroke the Terminator (classic Teen Titans appearance) and Swamp Thing.
The accessory pack originally set for October is coming in January.
The Static figure that was slated to arrive with Wave 4’s Joker, Firestorm and Green Lantern John Stewart is now on the schedule for April 2017. The Batgirl and Batcycle are now coming in December as well as the Grail & Darkseid two-pack. Batgirl was set to debut in November so she has a minor delay while Darkseid and Grail were bumped back two months.
DCC firmed up the release for the Rebirth 7-pack. That’s now coming in March 2017. That puts the Cyborg standalone figure in an interesting position. Assuming most folks are getting the 7-pack there’s not a lot of reason for them to plunk down on the Cyborg the following month for some extra accessories few fans seemed interested in getting in the first place. I’ll be curious as to how he does in stores as a result.
For Batman the Animated Series collectors, there’s a few changes as well.
Fortunately, the holiday Joker is still set for December.
Hopefully that’s the last round of delays for DCC and everything else remains on schedule. These lines have been really great, but delays will always hurt fan interest.
