On a list of my favorite GI Joe characters, Serpentor wouldn’t start getting consideration until the 40s or 50s. But this statue from Prime 1 Studio definitely warrants top tier status.
This limited edition statue looks amazing. Prime Studios recently revealed a terrific looking Snake-Eyes statue. Somehow Serpentor manages to surpass that high quality effort.
There’s a lot to love here from the highly detailed regal armor, fitting for Cobra’s emperor. Serpentor might have had a little TV version Galvatron in him on the cartoon, but he was actually pretty cool in the comic. Chalk that up to Joe writer Larry Hama finding a way to make a far out there concept work in the comic universe.
G.I. Joe Serpentor G.I. Joe Statue
I really like the pose chosen. Serpentor looks like he’s hovering above his legions sending them off to battle. If this guy was spouting off ‘This I Command’ every 40 seconds, you better believe Cobra would quickly fall in line.
The gold paint scheme is crucial here too. If it was too flat, it would lose that imperial spirit. This paint job pops and would help him stand out on the shelf.
His air chariot doesn’t get skimped on the details either. I’d really be in trouble if a company made 12-inch Joes at anything close to this quality.
Here’s a detailed break down:
Prime 1 Studio is proud to present PMGJ-03: Serpentor from G.I. JOE. Serpentor is one of the major antagonists of the G.I. Joe series. He serves as the Cobra Emperor of the Cobra organization, and is proven to be very pretentious, egocentric, vindictive, murderous, arrogant, sadistic, merciless, barbaric, and insane. The Cobra Emperor stands on his air chariot’s engine turbine at an impressive 32 inches tall.
