5 takeaways from The Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi trailer

The real question here isn’t have you seen the Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi trailer. That’s crazy talk. Of course you’ve seen it, but the real question is how many times? I’ve decided to decline to answer that question on the grounds y’all might look at me funny going forward.

Let’s just say I’ve seen it enough times to whip up this list of the five moments from The Last Jedi trailer that had me most curious.

We already know Kylo and his Knights of Ren destroyed the Jedi Order Ver. 2.0. But it looks like Last Jedi will show how that scene played out in vivid, tragic detail.

The battle on Crait looks familiar

I’m not quite sure what’s going on in this battle, but if you look close enough you’ll see AT-ATs in the distance. Is this an Empire Strikes Back homage. And if so, how will they take them down without Wedge and Jackson?

Echoing Empire Strikes Back it looks like The Resistance’s headquarters gets attacked by The First Order.

This plays into the notion that Luke Skywalker realizes the Jedi failed and it’s time to build something better. Potentially with Rey as the first of a new, more advanced form of Jedi.
