I really dug the first half of Kingsman: The Secret Service, but it got a little too crazy on the back end. Still, I dig the potential of the franchise. Today, we got the first look at the Kingsman: The Golden Circle trailer. From the first take it looks to double up the craziness. But can it top the original? That’s the real question.
Here’s the synopsis:
Our heroes face a new challenge. When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, their journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US called Statesman. These two elite secret organizations band together to defeat a ruthless common enemy, in order to save the world, something that’s becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy…
I’m very curious how Colin Firth returns. Not that I’m complaining as he was my favorite performer in The Secret Service. Hopefully he has a substantial role and it’s not some cheap gag.

The best thing going for The Golden Circle is the return of Director Matthew Vaughn. He’s a fantastically creative filmmaker and sure to bring the same level of energy and excitement in his second outing. I’m intrigued about how Channing Tatum and Jeff Bridges will play into the film as their Golden Circle trailer appearance definitely has me interested.
And I’ll never complain about Halle Berry, especially if she’s playing a femme fatale role. Elton John and Julianne Moore are also joining the party so if nothing else Golden Circle shouldn’t be boring.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle arrives in theaters on Sept. 22.
