IDW Publishing has all your childhood nostalgia covered. After GI Joe, Transformers, Ghostbusters and Jem, next up is Stretch Armstrong.
Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters starts January based on the new Netflix animated series.
The comic features the adventures of teenage superhero Jake Armstrong who gains new allies after his teenage friends get powers after exposure to experimental chemicals.
Stretch’s new partners are Ricardo Perez AKA Omni-Mass and Nathan Park AKA Wingspan who attend high school by day and fight crime in Charter City.
The comics will be written by series Executive Producers and head writers Kevin Burke & Chris ‘Doc’ Wyatt with art by Nikos Koutsis (Savage Dragon). Cover art will be provided by Aluir Amancio (Superman Adventures) and Koutsis. Burke & Wyatt developed STRETCH ARMSTRONG for television in collaboration with fellow Executive Producer, Victor Cook.
According to IDW, the comic will be set in the same timeframe of the Netflix series. There’s a nice bonus for comic readers as they’ll see the debut of a new villain before they appear on the show.
