Is a Marvel Cinematic Universe take on Secret Wars a possibility? Maybe so if remarks from The Russo Brothers has any weight.
While talking with French website L’Internaute, Joe Russo teased that Secret Wars could be adapted in Phase 4 of the MCU.

Granted, it could have just been an honest question to a what if question, but considering the massive wall and lock tight security for anything in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this answer was very interesting.
Secret Wars is considered Marvel’s first big universe spanning crossover narrowly beating DC’s Crisis on Infinite Earths by a year. It’s the godfather of bringing together all the big heroes (and villains) to stop a major event. Secret Wars and its sequel kicked off the blockbuster event cycle that ultimately led to Infinity Wars, Civil War and other major stories that have been adapted to big screen versions.
While Marvel Studios has a lot of good options for films from Marvel classic stories, Secret Wars makes the most sense if the entire Marvel Universe is at its disposal. Along with The Avengers, Spider-Man and Hulk, the event also featured the X-Men and Fantastic Four with the villain squad led by Dr. Doom. There’s other cool stories that could work, but a battle royal of heroes vs. villains would be too much fun to ignore.
This could also make for an easy way to explain why the Avengers, Fantastic Four and X-Men would come together without a long setup.
What do you think? Will Marvel Studios rush to get a Secret Wars film in the works or will they focus on other events whenever the Fox deal is a go?
