Faith (Selena Gomez), Brit (Ashley Benson) and Candy (Vanessa Hudgens) party on in “Spring Breakers.”

You already know if you’re gonna like “Spring Breakers” or find it the kind of vile filth you’ll need several showers to forget … and possibly some therapy.

The trailers tell you everything you need to know. This isn’t a movie that has some hidden depth that will bring you from one side of the money-slanging, booty-banging fence to the other. You’d wish all movies were this honest in that regard. More

Under absolutely no circumstances should you answer “The Call.” Hang up, iDivert, ignore whatever you need to do. Just act like the new Halle Berry thriller/drama doesn’t exist.

More frustrating is that sense that somewhere buried in all this wreckage is a decent idea that could have made for a good thriller. Yet now I’m writing this public service announcement masquerading as a movie review to warn you not to ever waste valuable moments of your life even considering watching my favorite to win Worst Movie of the 2013. Review: End of Watch

End of WatchWith countless procedural cop dramas on network and cable TV, it’d be easy to figure “End of Watch” can’t possibly have anything new to add let alone be worth two hours of your time. But if you did, you’d be cheating yourself out of seeing one of those rare brilliant dramas that feels so real you forget what you’re watching has been carefully edited, acted, written and researched. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 – Some people will hate on this series just because it seems like the thing to do, but for those who can lay off the sarcasm triggers long enough, this final installment of the “Twilight:” series was a lot of fun with one of the best fake-out scenes I’ve seen in years. This also has a special release date so instead of the normal Tuesday, it’s coming out this Friday just in case you were planning on camping out in front of Best Buy or Target to get it tomorrow. Valentine's Day movie Jennifer Garner and Ashton Kutcher2013 FF: Figure this was an appropriate day to post this one, no? I love these ensemble comedies and all their consistently moving parts. This one is more worthy of a “guilty pleasure” tag, but I enjoy it every time I watch it. Here’s my look back: More

Katie (Julianne Hough) and Alex (Josh Duhamel) in “Safe Haven.”

“Safe Haven” is a suspense thriller that the filmmakers keep forgetting is supposed to be a simple Nicholas Sparks novel turned romance drama. This is a film where the creators are trying to do more than necessary when a basic storytelling approach was all that was needed. More

With its theme of forbidden love and witches, “Beautiful Creatures” is practically the illegitimate offspring of “Harry Potter” and “Twilight.” The adaptation of Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl’s “Castor Chronicles” is well-suited to be the next big franchise. It’s got all the ingredients, but there’s not enough magic to put you under its spell. More

Here’s the first pictures and trailer for the new Ryan Gosling/Bradley Cooper drama “The Place Between the Pines.” My initial thought is how much I hate Gosling’s hair for this one, but his cool scar almost makes up for it.
