All-time Top 10, Batman & Robin, Best comic book movie performances, Captain America, Joker, Magneto, The Avengers, Wolverine, X-Men
When “Iron Man 3″ comes to theaters Friday, Robert Downey Jr. will have played the titular character in five movies, second only to Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and moves him out of the four-way tie with Christoper Reeve’s Superman, Patrick Stewart’s Professor X and Michael Gough’s Alfred from the 1989-1997 Batman series.
So I figured there’s no better time than now to look at the Top 10 best performances in a comic book movie. How many times an actor played the part only played a minor factor so just because someone played a character in three movies doesn’t automatically move them up the list, but in some cases it certainly helped.
The most important aspect in my selection process was if the actor went beyond their usual performance and
Alright, that’s enough explanations. On to the list! More

Avengers 2, Captain America, Hawkeye, Iron Man 3, Joss Whedon, Marvel's The Avengers, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch
During the “Iron Man 3″ premiere, “Marvel’s The Avengers” director/writer Joss Whedon announced to Yahoo! Movies that he’s made some solid progress on the sequel to the third highest grossing film of all time and it will have at least two new Avengers familiar to comic fans.
“I have actually finished a draft, we’re in a very good place,” Whedon said. “It’s an evolution, and that goes on all through shooting and it never stops. I’ve done enough shows and movies to be comfortable with that. You do come to a point where we all agree … You lock certain things in. But then there’s a certain fluidity when you’re working with Robert [Downey Jr.]. Robert’s going to want to do something new on the day, and you’re going to want him to, because it’s going to be funny. So you always keep yourself open.”
But the biggest news was this tidbit about some new additions to the roster: More

Avengers, Captain America, Geoff Johns, Iron Man, Jonathan Hickman, Justice League, Red Skull, The Answer, Throne of Atlantis, Uncanny Avengers, Uncanny X-Force, Young Avengers
This looks like it’s going to be a big week with some intriguing new releases. Here’s my man, Steve Anderson from Third Eye Comics, with the breakdown on everything worth checking out:
The THRONE OF ATLANTIS has once again put both JUSTICE LEAGUE and AQUAMAN at the top of our reading lists, as GEOFF JOHNS takes his two most kick-a$$ titles and crosses the two over.. and we’re loving every second of it!
Both JUSTICE LEAGUE and AQUAMAN have been major DCU releases, and have been delivering in a big way since day 1. Now, as the secrets of Atlantis are revealed, and Aquaman’s origins come to the surface, a war begins to brew between the JUSTICE LEAGUE and ATLANTIS, and AQUAMAN’s struggle to fend off OCEAN MASTER is all that keeps ATLANTIS from waging war on the surface world altogether.
Killer artwork, killer storytelling, folks, if you’ve yet to jump on board either AQUAMAN or JUSTICE LEAGUE, now’s a great chance to try both of these top tier DCU titles. More

AVENGERS #1 debuts kicking off the biggest Marvel NOW titles of the year!

Jonathan Hickman and Jerome Opena. Together. ON THE AVENGERS?! One word: AWESOME.
Heck, even the team roster has us geeking out, with a mix of iconic faves like THE HULK, CAPTAIN AMERICA and WOLVERINE, along with cult favorites like Carol Danvers CAPTAIN MARVEL and THE BLACK WIDOW. [I still hate that Wolverine and Spider-Man are on The Avengers. Sigh. - JKL]

The AVENGERS “go large” in this title, expanding their roster, and their sphere of influence to a global and even interplanetary level. ATTN: BRONIES — IDW is MAGIC this Wednesday!

Whether you’re a brony, or you’ve got a My Little Pony fan in your life, IDW’s new FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC comic series is a must-have.
Welcome to Ponyville, home of Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Applejack and all the rest. Something’s not right in the town though, as some of it’s inhabitants are acting very, very strange. It’s up to the Mane Six to find the source of the weirdness before it’s too late.
Folks, remember when the ADVENTURE TIME comics came out last year, and totally went bananas in their popularity? It’s about to happen all over again with the new MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC series. More

If you’re traveling this holiday, you may as well have some quality reading material. Here’s Third Eye Comics Steve Anderson with all the recommended pick-ups for this week.
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #698 *DYING WISH CHAPTER 1* begins!
Folks, we’ve been singing praise upon Dan Slott’s stellar run on AMAZING SPIDER-MAN since he first began with BIG TIME a few years ago. It’s been a long, crazy ride, and while there’s been better arcs than others, for the most part, the entire run has been an incredible read. Slott has put in a ton of hard work at rebuilding the world and mythos of Spidey, and in the process, has given us one of the most consistently entertaining and compelling Marvel monthlies on the racks.
Just trust me: it’s worth it.
This issue is, single-handedly, the biggest single issue of a superhero comic I’ve read in 2012, and yes, that includes some of the already epic stuff out there like the reveal in BATMAN #12, and the conclusion to Avengers vs. X-Men in issue #12. This is a major moment in Marvel history, and come Wednesday, everyone is going to be wanting this one! More

Marvel NOW brings us DEADPOOL #1!

It was hard to choose what was going to be our top pick this week, but after seeing the amazing custom cover that STRANGE TALENT OF LUTHER STRODE artist TRADD MOORE did for us in collaboration with Marvel… we had to go with DEADPOOL. Plus: it’s a fantastic read!
What’d you get when you take some of the most talented, genuinely funny writers in the business and pair them up with one of the most talented artists in the biz? Wait, wait, hold on.. what happens when you pair these titans up, and then put them on one of the most instinctively cool characters in comics?

A PLUS X #1 DELIVERS THE NEXT “MARVEL NOW” TITLE!

We are so totally amped about A PLUS X, and are even more stoked that it’s dropping this Wednesday. Marvel has managed to make the MARVEL TEAM UP concept cool, and interesting again!
This first issue features a very cool Wolverine / Hulk tale from JEPH LOEB (BATMAN: HUSH, BATMAN: THE LONG HALLOWEEN) and DALE KEOWN (HULK: THE END!), which brings us a pairing of two Marvel icons: the DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Wolverine and the MAESTRO Hulk from FUTURE IMPERFECT.
Also, we’re given a majorly badass CAPTAIN AMERICA vs. CABLE story by Dan Slott (AMAZING SPIDER-MAN), and one of our all-time favorite Captain America artists, RON GARNEY (he did the killer Mark Waid run back in the day). We cannot recommend it enough. More
