Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Justice League: Doom, kevin conroy, Nathan Fillion, Superman, Susan Eisenberg, Tim Daly, Tower of Babel, Wonder Woman

Were it not for some major departures from the source material, “Justice League: Doom” could have been the best entry in Warner Bros. Animation’s DC Comics library. Even with the changes, it’s definitely in the upper echelon of the consistently quality animated films of the DC Universe. More

The big rumor going around right now is that Warner Bros. wants Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale to play an integral role in saving its struggling “Justice League” movie.
According to the Latino Review, Warner Bros. has tabbed Nolan to serve as the architect of the Justice League franchise (similar to Joss Whedon with Marvel’s Avengers stable) while “Man of Steel” director Zack Snyder is the early frontrunner to direct the massive endeavor. More

DC wants your opinion on who will be the last hero or villain standing with its Battle Arena face-off for “Injustice: Gods Among Us” video game. The game looks intriguing as it has all of DC’s heavy-hitters: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Nightwing, Catwoman, Joker, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Harley Quinn, Bane, etc. in a fighting game.

Time for some relaxing reading and the highlights, as usual, are brought to you by my pal Steve from Third Eye Comics:
Marvel NOW brings us DEADPOOL #1!

It was hard to choose what was going to be our top pick this week, but after seeing the amazing custom cover that STRANGE TALENT OF LUTHER STRODE artist TRADD MOORE did for us in collaboration with Marvel… we had to go with DEADPOOL. Plus: it’s a fantastic read!
What’d you get when you take some of the most talented, genuinely funny writers in the business and pair them up with one of the most talented artists in the biz? Wait, wait, hold on.. what happens when you pair these titans up, and then put them on one of the most instinctively cool characters in comics?

My buddy Steve from Third Eye Comics takes a look at Wednesday’s new releases including the debut of Marvel Now:
MARVEL NOW begins this Wednesday!!

Folks, let me start off by saying this: I was lucky enough to read one of the advance copies Marvel sent us of this, and I gotta tell you: IT WAS FANTASTIC.
Holy crap, this is the best the Avengers comics have been in a long, long time. I mean, we loved the hell out of Avengers vs. X-Men, but it’s been a while since we’ve got really, truly excited about the regular ongoing AVENGERS series in the Marvel U.
But, bringing UNCANNY X-FORCE writer RICK REMENDER on as the flagship writer of the line was the perfect choice, and with ASTONISHING X-MEN: GIFTED artist JOHN CASSADAY handling art…. this book hits home runs on both counts: story and art. More

JUSTICE LEAGUE #12 — ONE OF THE BIGGEST MOMENTS IN THE NEW 52 GOES DOWN IN THIS WEDNESDAY’S JL #12

JUSTICE LEAGUE, has remained consistent, as one of our favorites of the DC NEW 52, and it’s earned it’s top spot as one of the best books we read each and every month. There’s no doubt about that at all.
As the flagship title of the NEW 52, and the title that’s responsible for much of the “world-building” of the NEW 52 Universe, JUSTICE LEAGUE is the foundation for pretty much everything else. In other words: read this book, seriously.
Geoff Johns and Jim Lee? You couldn’t ask for a better creative team, as these two superstars deliver a monthly dose of the formative years of not just the JUSTICE LEAGUE but the NEW 52 as a whole.

BEFORE WATCHMEN: RORSCHACH #1 – THE MOST ANTICIPATED WATCHMEN PREQUEL ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY
FROM THE CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED CREATIVE TEAM OF “JOKER” & “LUTHOR”

BEFORE WATCHMEN has been a freakin’ blast, folks, and we’ve been loving nearly every single one of these prequel series.
This dark, and fascinating spin on characters that are near mythological in terms of their iconic nature in the realm of comic storytelling has had us hooked. More

BATMAN INCORPORATED #3 — Our favorite Batman title NOT written by Scott Snyder. Find out why we’re LOVING this book!

BATMAN INCORPORATED, is, by far, our favorite BATMAN book that’s NOT the flagship title by SCOTT SNYDER. While Snyder’s is definitely our top pick, BATMAN INC is definitely ranking high up there with it’s killer storytelling by the legendary GRANT MORRISON, and it’s fantastic artwork by CHRIS BURNHAM.
It’s cool to see this kind of retro cool going on in BATMAN INC. It’s VERY reminiscent of Morrison’s work on ALL STAR SUPERMAN, and I think that may be a big part of the reason why we’re digging on it so much. More

BATMAN: EARTH ONE – A MUST-READ BATMAN GRAPHIC NOVEL AND AN INSTANT CLASSIC!

I was actually lucky enough to read an advanced copy of this one a few months back, and I’ve been sitting on my excitement for it ever since, as not to drop any spoilers.
So, when I say that I’m stoked to share this one with you guys, folks, you better believe it. This is THE best Batman you will read this year that does not have the first name Scott and the last name Snyder on it.
Bar none. This ranks right up there with COURT OF OWLS / BLACK MIRROR, and I guarantee you, as soon as it drops on Wednesday, it will become an instant classic in the Batman library, taking it’s place amongst highly regarded favorites like THE LONG HALLOWEEN, YEAR ONE, DARK KNIGHT RETURNS, and more.
This is about a Batman who could really exist. This is about the psychology that drives such a man. And, most importantly, this is about the lengths that he will go to in order to prevent what happened to him from happening to anyone else. And, folks, it is FREAKIN’ great. Do not sleep on this book! You will love it!
