To paraphrase Ke$ha (and how many times do you think those words have been uttered?) horror movies are what they are. Occasionally there’s room for a horror movie with a twist ending you don’t see coming like a “Friday the 13th” or “Scream,” but since horror fans are the least demanding fans, it’s not necessary.

Third Eye Comics‘ Steve Anderson selects his top picks once again and this looks like a good week and easily my favorite is the Deadpool is unimpressed variant covers spoofing the infamous McKayla Maroney shot from the Olympics. Doesn’t that seem like it was three years ago already? That’s why I never hate on the Olympians squeezing out every second of their four-year 15 minutes of fame. Anyway, here’s Steve:
ALL NEW X-MEN #1 LAUNCHES THIS WEDNESDAY
ALL-NEW X-MEN arrives this Wednesday and we could not be more pumped.
Brian Michael Bendis and Stuart Immonen, bring a fresh new voice to the X-Titles, and we could not be more pumped. This looks phenomenal.
We’re shown the original team of X-Men arriving from the past. Cyclops. Iceman. The Beast. Jean Grey. Angel. All still teenagers, all still unprepared for what awaits them in the here and now.
When they arrive, behaving like they just stepped off the set of MAD MEN, the future is a very scary place. How do they get from the past to the present? What’s the motivation of it, and who brings them here? That’s the surprise we want to save for you guys. Issue #1 of this was the best X-Book we’ve read since WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN #1 (which is our current fave), and we highly, highly recommend picking this one up.

It’s not too soon to start getting hyped up for the second phase of the Avengers initiative, is it?
Walt Disney announced a number of updates on their record-breaking franchise including the not-too shocking announcement that “Thor: The Dark World” will be arriving on Nov. 8, 2013 in 3D. The 2011 original had some 3D elements, but it wasn’t essential to the experience. I’m hoping this second go-round, the filmmakers will really go nuts with making it a complete 3D experience. More

Well, you knew it was just a matter of time before Hot Toys delivered everyone’s favorite Armored Avenger for its “Marvel’s The Avengers” 12″ collectable line. They’ve already done Loki, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye and Black Widow so now’s as good a time as any to showcase a lot of people’s favorite character – Iron Man.

Hot Toys is going to be at the annual Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong event starting Friday. They’ve announced some pretty anticipated figures from both their “Marvel’s The Avengers” line – see Loki, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye and Black Widow here as well as “The Dark Knight Rises” [see their work on Batman, Bane, the Joker, Lt. Gordon and the Bat-pod] but today they offered a teaser of one of my favorite characters from The Avengers and it may be the first time I’m this excited to see what a guy in a suit looks like… More

Hot Toys’ has concocted a brilliant plan to break my wallet in 2012 as they continue pumping out these awesome “Marvel’s The Avengers” collectible figures. This time with their amazing work on Thor. 
I’ve already shown you the Hot Toys’ Loki figure so now it’s time to show his brother, Thor.
And not surprising at all for anyone who’s followed Hot Toys, this is about as perfect as 12″ reproduction of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor as you can get without using a shrink ray.
About the only nitpick I can make here is that this is the final battle version of Thor with the armor covering the arms so you won’t be able to re-enact the “Shakespeare in the Park” stand-off with Iron Man and Captain America.
