[From left] Vitaly the Tiger (Bryan Cranston), Gia the Jaguar (Jessica Chastain), Marty the Zebra (Chris Rock), Alex the Lion (Ben Stiller), Gloria the Hippo (Jada Pinkett Smith) and Melman the Giraffe (David Schwimmer) are a circus success in DreamWorks Animation’s “MADAGASCAR 3: EUROPE’S MOST WANTED,” to be released by Paramount Pictures.
Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted – I’ve been one of the bigger haters of this franchise and had no shortage of jokes all set to unleash on this new one so I was shocked to really, really enjoy the third installment. I figured I’d love “Marvel’s The Avengers” and “The Dark Knight Rises,” so for me, this was the surprise of the summer. Everything clicked perfectly this time from the familiar characters, the new allies and the evil menace. It was just a lot of fun. So much that I’m considering buying the bonus pack just so I can get a rainbow Afro.

Donny Berger (Adam Sandler) and Todd Peterson (Andy Samberg) in Columbia Pictures’ comedy THAT’S MY BOY.
That’s My Boy – Adam Sandler plays Andy Samberg’s father in a comedy that appeared to live up to everyone’s expectations. Sadly those were all expectations that this would be one of the worst comedies of the year. They were not disappointed.

[From left] DEVIN KELLEY as Amanda, OLIVIA TAYLOR DUDLEY as Natalie and JESSE McCARTNEY as Chris in Alcon Entertainment, Film Nation Entertainment and Oren Peli/Brian Witten Pictures’ “CHERNOBYL DIARIES,” a Warner Bros. Pictures release.
Chernobyl Diaries – Tourists decide to visit the most scenic sight on Earth – the wasteland of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. I guess it beats going to the theaters to see “That’s My Boy”……
