New images from Denzel Washington's latest "Flight"

I think it’s pretty much required to be a Denzel Washington fan if you even remotely like movies. Fortunately, he’s got an awesome track record so it’s not like he’s burned his fan base on too many bombs.

Still, I haven’t really loved a Denzel movie since 2006’s “Inside Man,” despite his reliably consistent work in films like “The Book of Eli” and “Safe House.” That streak looks like it just might be over with his latest.

Denzel Washington is Whip Whitaker in “FLIGHT.”

Here’s the synopsis:

In this action-packed mystery thriller, Academy Award winner, Denzel Washington stars as Whip Whitaker, a seasoned airline pilot, who miraculously crash lands his plane after a mid-air catastrophe, saving nearly every soul on board.  After the crash, Whip is hailed as a hero, but as more is learned, more questions than answers arise as to who or what was really at fault and what really happened on that plane?

[From left] Bruce Greenwood is Charlie Anderson, Denzel Washington is Whip Whitaker and Don Cheadle is Hugh Lang in “FLIGHT.”

I’m pretty intrigued by his co-stars. Don Cheadle (“Iron Man 2”) of course is great in anything, but Bruce Greenwood is one of those character actors who I’ve been a fan of since the underrated “Nowhere Man” TV series.

“Flight” lands on Nov. 2 and I’m excited about seeing it as well as coming up with hundreds of puns involving the title.
