Yet another reason to love the Star Wars-Disney marriage

Two of my closest friends do a family trip every year to Florida and of course hit up Disney World, which may have the world’s best gift shop. A few years ago, they got me this — the centerpiece of my Muppets collection featuring some of the main characters as Star Wars characters.

Kermit the Frog is naturally Luke Skywalker, Fozzie Bear is Chewbacca, Miss Piggy is Princess Leia, Beaker is 3C-P0, Rizzo the Rat is Yoda and Gonzo is Darth Vader. It’s pretty great, isn’t it?
So now with the Star Wars/Disney merger, how many other crossover merchandise can we expect? Scrooge McDuck as Emperor Palpatine? Donald Duck as Han Solo? Who would be Boba Fett or R2-D2? And what about a Star Wars/Muppets/Disney/Seasame Street crossover? The folks at the Disney marketing department must feel like Christmas came early with this new acquisition.

That’s cool. And you just KNOW that instead of just “Star Tours”, there is going to be a “Star Wars Land” opening soon in each Disney. Streets of Mos Eisley, a Carbon Freezing Chamber, Emperor’s Throne Room, Rebel hangar, etc. It will happen for sure.
And know that I’ll be RIGHT THERE when that opens. ;-)
Me too my friend. Me too.
