New on Blu-Ray/DVD for June 12, 2013 – Grab the "Oz" and see "Snitch"
A pretty good week for new releases with 2 out of 3 worth seeing/addition to your collection.

Glinda (Michelle Williams) and Oz (James Franco).
Oz the Great and Powerful – Joined by a flying monkey and a porcelain doll, con-man Oz (James Franco) sets off to through a magical world in a quest to stop the Wicked Witch — who may be Evanora (Rachel Weisz), Theodora (Mila Kunis) or Glenda (Michelle Williams). Sam Raimi has a lot of fun in this CGI-extravaganza that’s a worthy prequel to the beloved classic.

Gretel (Gemma Arterton) and Hansel (Jeremy Renner).
Hansel & Gretel Witch Hunters – This was a goofy idea that re-imagined the siblings (Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton) as witch-killing bounty hunters.
It’s not the worse premise and honestly could have worked, but needs a skilled director and writer to pull it off and this one has neither.

Malik (Michael Williams) watches John (Dwayne Johnson) in “Snitch.”
Snitch – This drama was billed more as a hard-hitting action-thriller, no doubt to bring Dwayne Johnson’s fanbase to theaters instead of being more honest and saying it’s about a father making a deal with the DEA to get his son released from prison after being framed in a drug deal.
That plan didn’t work out too well as the film only managed $42 million, but it’s much better than its meager box office gross and definitely worth seeing as Johnson goes beyond his regular tough guy roles and shows great depth.
