New concept art for "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" – the major fight scene
As we close in on the San Diego Comic Con, we’re getting more tidbits of two of the more anticipated films that will be spotlighted at the event — Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”
Way back in April, I looked at the concept art for the 2014 offerings for Marvel’s Phase 2 films and now here’s a look at another “Winter Soldier” piece featuring a suited-up Captain America (Chris Evans) and Falcon (Anthony Mackie) against a squad led by The Winter Soldier (whose identity I’ll continue to avoid mentioning for the non-comic book readers out there).
Doesn’t look like there’s many changes to Cap’s uniform. I was kinda hoping for the outfit’s grey to be removed.
The Winter Soldier looks like he’s straight out of the comic book (almost my first choice) and I’m very interested to see how the character is portrayed in the film.
On the other hand, Falcon (flying in the far left background) looks like he’s in a boring black/grey combo attire, which isn’t nearly as interesting as his comic book outfit and almost makes him look to similar to The Winter Soldier’s costume.
“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” comes to theaters April 4, 2014.
Very cool. I love the addition of the quinjet there. A nice tie in to the avengers.
Until you said that I wasn’t sure what that was. Good catch. BTW, found a HT Loki for a really good deal via eBay so should have three to my ever-expanding HT Avengers collection ;-)
That’s great news! Looking forward to your thoughts on that.
I’ll have Thor arriving any day now. And I am tempted to get Odin to go with them.
Are you thinking of getting any more of the avengers?
Hawkeye is too darned expensive and I wasn’t a huge fan of the costume anyway. May have to wait to see if he makes Avengers 2.
Definitely want the Avengers Iron Man and Hulk and want to see how Cap:WS version turns out. Thor’s next on my list ;-)
There are $30 bootlegs of Hawkeye’s head available. Keep in mind when Cap tells Hawkeye to “suit up”, that’s the only time he starts wearing his purple uniform tunic. The whole rest of the movie, he’s wearing a traditional Spec ops set of BDUs. I reckon you could put a Hawkeye custom together for less than $100 using parts from Black Ops Toys or Toy Anxiety. I bought one of the bootleg headsculpts , and it looks great
Your right about Hawkeye Jeff, he is really expensive now. I don’t even think set price on him are below $500 now, the best chance at getting a deal on him is trying live bidding. I’ve seen maybe 2-3 deals over the last month where he went in the $350-$380 range or so, if you can catch a deal like that and you want to complete the set, i’ll say get it. But if you can do without him than you can pass on it. Thor looks so much better in person, it’s a great looking figure. Do you have the Mark VII & Hulk on PO?
I’m still trying to find someplace for Mark VII and Hulk. Any ideas?
LOL good question. I’m getting some Detolf display cases from IKEA for mine. I’m also planning on getting some Shadowboxes from Michaels for some of my figures, I already have one. They can hold up to two figures in them and they cost about $30 but about $20 with their usual discounts. Michaels just started making bigger Shadowboxes that can hold about 6-8 figures and it cost around $60 but you can get it even cheaper with their 20% off sale. The ‘Hulk’ is a tough question my man, i’m just going to slide a glass panel out of one of the detolfs i’m getting and put him in there. IKEA also has a wood with the glass panels that cost about $70, their about 22 inches in height and width, I might get one of those to hold my ‘Hulk’, ‘Iron Monger’ & ‘Jake Sully’.
I still cannot post here from my PC… I have to use my iPhone or iPad.
In any case, if you want hawkeye, you could easily build a custom for about $100.
He had a totally different look at the beginning. There are loads of costumes available cheaply that could replicate that.
Also, are you a member of the sideshow forum Jeff?
You could easily make a Hawkeye custom for less than $100
