The nWo invades WWE 2K’14
I think I’ve made it pretty clear how excited I am for WWE 2K’14, but the announcement of some add-on packs has got me counting down the hours til I get it even more. Especially since it includes one of my all-time favorite wrestling factions.
Here’s the info from 2KSports:
Everyone knows that WWE 2K14 features the all-new 30 Years of WrestleMania Mode, the return of Universe Mode and the Creation Suite, improved and expanded gameplay and the greatest roster ever. With the exception of Buff Bagwell and Scott “Flash” Norton, this pretty much covers my ideal nWo lineup. Course I’ll have to customize a Billionaire Ted DiBiase and Vincent though…

WWE Legends and Creations Pack
- Virgil will be available free of charge!
- Available for a suggested purchase cost of $8.99.
- Playable WWE Hall of Famers and Superstars:
- Bruno Sammartino
- “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes
- “Ravishing” Rick Rude
- Jake “The Snake” Roberts
The Legends pack is a mixed bag. While I love getting Rude and Roberts, having Sammartino in the game is a nice bonus, but kinda worthless since there’s not a ton of guys he actually fought in the game — at least as of this point.
And in keeping with the theme for the 30 Years of Wrestlemania, here’s a look at some of the new possible matchups opened up from the expansion packs:
The Outsiders arrive
Background: Scott Hall and Kevin Nash became famous in the WWF as Razor Ramon and Diesel, but they both previously made waves in WCW. Now with a cocky new attitude, the former WWF stars returned to WCW determined to destroy their old stomping grounds as The Outsiders.
After weeks of terrorizing WCW’s Monday Nitro, Hall and Nash finally stepped in the ring to face WCW’s finest – Randy “Macho Man” Savage, “The Total Package” Lex Luger and Sting with the fate of WCW lying in the balance and The Outsiders’ partner a mystery that would be revealed in the most shocking manner possible.

Kevin Nash vs. The Giant
Background: The nWo wasn’t big enough to have two giants and after The Giant got turfed out the group for daring to challenge “Hollywood” Hogan for his world title, Nash stepped up to defend his leader. After a few near misses, the two finally collided in this memorable encounter at nWo Souled Out.

Syxx vs. Ric Flair
Background: Looking to make his mark in the nWo beyond the shadow of his Outsiders pals Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, Syxx decided to join in on their feud against the leader of the Four Horsemen, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair. Although he considered The Outsiders a serious threat, Flair considered Syxx a nuisance. Would he regret his slight of Syxx-Pac?

“Macho Man” Randy Savage switches up
Background: During their initial onslaught, the one man who constantly found himself in the path of the nWo’s sights was the “Macho Man.” With little help from the rest of the WCW roster, Savage disappeared for a few months only to resurface as an ally to WCW’s other outcast – Sting. With “Hollywood” Hogan in dire straights in a world heavyweight title defense against “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Savage unexpectedly aided his former rival and it wasn’t until the next night on Nitro did the fans learn why the Macho Man became nWo 4 Life.

The Perfect Traitor
Background: Try as they might, Ric Flair and the Horsemen couldn’t get the upper hand on the nWo. Partly because for the first time in their history, the Four Horsemen found themselves outnumbered and with Arn Anderson forced to retire, the group was in a state of disarray. Fortunately, Flair’s friend Curt Hennig arrives just in time to take Anderson’s spot … and quickly turn on them in War Games to join the nWo leading to a bitter feud with Flair.
