It's time to start getting hyped about "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." again

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD Episode 17 Turn Turn - Coulson, Skye and FitzAfter a lot of fanfare as one of the most highly anticipated shows of the 2013 fall season, it’d be an understatement to say “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” had some early growing pains. There were a lot of problems from the overemphasis of maybe traitor/maybe S.H.I.E.L.D. agent wannabe Skye (Chloe Bennett), a frustrating lack of information on how Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) returned from the dead after getting skewered by Loki in “Marvel’s The Avengers” and the annoying matter of the team being able to neatly handle any problem within an hour. Not to mention the seeming vacuum the show seemed to exist in apart from the rest of the Marvel Universe made even more obvious as the producers of rival comic book-based show “Arrow” excelled at weaving in various layers of the DC universe in seemingly every episode.

And while the midseason break seemed to indicate a shift to more ongoing storylines that audience members would actually care about, it actually took a few more episodes for the writers to hit their stride in creating a show more in line with what Marvel movie fans were expecting all along. Now with the repercussions from “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” imminent, this show has suddenly got a lot more intriguing and I can’t wait for tonight’s episode. Time for a quick recap of what turned the tide and what’s to come next. There will be some “Winter Soldier” spoilers at this point and I’m not sure how long you can stay with the show if you haven’t watched the movie yet, but anyway consider that your SPOILER WARNING.
