5 reasons why Arrow needs to be in Justice League plans

2. The emergence of the TV/Movie Synergy

Warner Bros. need not look any further than the massive success of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and how its tie-in to the Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series sparked renewed interest in the show and is keeping the happenings of the Marvel Universe on fans’ minds on a weekly basis.

There’s a legitimate buzz around the show that arguably hadn’t existed since the season premiere and now audiences are eagerly anticipating each episode and anxiously looking forward to the numerous possibilities that exist with the second season.

That same possibility exists with Arrow and Batman vs. Superman and I’d argue is even more necessary. Take this year’s comic book movie lineup for example. There’s four big comic book movies being released in 2014 — Winter Soldier, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past and Guardians of the Galaxy. None feature a DC character and the same is true for 2015.stephen amell and henry cavill

But imagine if for seasons three and four of Arrow, there’s some subplots that ultimately lead to Batman vs. Superman. Maybe what we’ve seen of Arrow so far predated Man of Steel and the writers start weaving some connections or mentions of the destruction of Metropolis and rebuilding efforts.

We already know S.T.A.R. Labs is a part of both the TV and movie universes so why not take advantage of that built-in connection? And really if Samuel L. Jackson can find time in his schedule to make appearances on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is it asking a lot for maybe a quick Cavill cameo in Arrow?

After all, there’s only so many cast announcements and on-set pictures that can stoke fan excitement for Batman vs. Superman, which isn’t set for release until May 2016. In the interim there’s Ant-Man, the next Fast and Furious, the conclusion of The Hunger Games and highly-anticipated blockbusters Star Wars: Episode VII and The Avengers: Age of Ultron so any reminder of Batman vs. Superman can’t hurt and there’s no better format than a weekly TV show.

Best of all, Arrow could then be used as the bridge to keep the buzz building from Batman vs. Superman to Justice League.
