1. Stephen Amell deserves the big screen spotlight
Amell had the challenge of picking up the DC TV banner after Smallville ended its decade-long run and establishing his own take on Green Arrow, one of the principal supporting cast members for half of Smallville’s run.
But he not only created the unquestioned definitive take on the character, Amell has made Arrow must-see material since its debut two years ago. That’s expected with a top-tier character like Superman, but to do it with a character unknown to anyone outside of comic book circles is phenomenal.
Off screen he’s a heck of a guy too. On a small, but cool note, he voiced Arrow for the Injustice: Gods Among Us video game. Today is his birthday and instead of rambling on about what he’s gotten, he went on Facebook today and asked this:
I’d much rather see a guy like him become a major star on both TV and movies than the legions of reality show morons being spotlighted these days.
Best of all? He wants in on the fun too.
So seriously WB, let’s make this happen.
