Check out these amazing #WWE cartoon strips
One of my favorite features in Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Year-End issue was the comic strips detailing significant events of the past year.It was the only time I got to see wrestlers in cartoonish/comic strip form (beyond Santino Marella of course) until now.
As my interest in the current product is on the rise, thanks in large part to Daniel Bryan, The Shield, The Wyatt Family and Evolution, I’m checking out various sites online and stumbled onto Nightmare Pro Wrestling, a site ran by Jon David and Nicole Guerra.
They have their own comic strip about Grave, a young monster competing in the Nightmare Universe’s pro, wrestling federations in hopes of becoming the World Heavyweight Champion.
That’s a fun concept, but what really captured my attention were Jon’s incredible strips featuring WWE superstars based on pay-per-views and Monday Night Raw shows.
I’m really impressed by how deceptively simple Jon David’s artwork is, but how expertly he captures the wrestlers’ personalities and likenesses.
Check out this drawing from an April RAW and see how it compares to the same moment from an actual still.
Best of all if you like them, you can order them on the site.
