Will Jason Momoa actually make Aquaman too cool? #Aquaman #JasonMomoa

AquamanHey look it’s a new day and here’s another new DC Comics rumor. Whoever is responsible for leaking this news at Warner Bros. is a genius as they wisely waited to start funneling this info out after the buzz of three of Marvel’s four comic book films (“Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past“) died down.

Jason Momoa AquamanToday’s rumor comes from HitFix and they’re swearing that Jason Momoa (“Game of Thrones,” “Bullet to the Head“) has signed on as Aquaman and will be appearing in “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

Aquaman vs SupermanThe rumor continues that Aquaman isn’t exactly gonna be Superman’s biggest fan after General Zod’s World Engine wrecked havoc on the Indian Ocean and may have some words with him. It’s possible that Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) could use that anger and manipulate Aquaman to battle against Superman. This is sounding like it will be a serious superhero throw down and that doesn’t even include Ben Affleck’s Batman also squaring off with Superman.

Apparently, Director Zack Snyder has settled on a costume design and Aquaman will be playing some role here instead of debuting in “Justice League,” which was the rumor circulating yesterday. If you’re keeping track at home, Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) are already a lock to appear in “Dawn of Justice.”

Jason Momoa BaywatchAt 6’4″ Momoa is clearly an impressive presence, but I have to wonder if he not be the best fit for the role. Maybe this is just my perception of the characters, but Aquaman probably shouldn’t look more threatening than Superman. Henry Cavill is 6’1″ so there would be a significant height difference there. But Momoa is a much better actor than people give him credit and this would definitely be the most bad-a$$ portrayal of Aquaman we’ll have seen so far.

But it’s not like Momoa doesn’t have experience with a role near the water as he initially got his big break in “Baywatch.”
