David Oyelowo may be signing on to hunt Jedi in “Star Wars: Episode VII”

I guess I’m being slightly hypocritical questioning the addition of each new cast announcement for “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” but getting ridiculously geeked out with each passing rumor for “Star Wars: Episode VII.” Ah well, guess it’s clear where my full loyalties lie…

Today’s rumor especially has me excited. If MakingStarWars.net is to be trusted, David Oyelowo (“Jack Reacher,” “Lee Daniels’ The Butler“) will be joining the film.

He’ll be teaming with previously announced stars Lupita Nyong’o and Adam Driver as a trio known as the Jedi Hunters. In typical Star Wars fashion, they will wear black, wield lightsabers, and are obsessed with restoring the Sith Lords’ glory. They’ve also been battling Luke Skywalker since “Star Wars: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.”

TheForce.Net,says Oyelowo will be voicing Imperial Agent Kallus in the animated “Star Wars Rebels” TV series. If this is true, my enthusiasm for this movie has tripled. Oyelowo was the best part of “The Butler” and he is a fantastically underrated actor that would truly benefit from appearing in a Star Wars film.
