Marvel's updated Phase 3 slate with Avengers: Infinity War, Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Inhumans news
Wow. Now that’s how you announce your movie lineup!
While I still argue that Marvel Studios wasn’t having any sleepness nights about DC/Warner Bros’ announced slate of 10 movies through 2020, it sure blew the lid off the net with its upcoming slate. Here’s the full lineup:
Captain America 3 will be released May 6, 2016
November 4, 2016 will be Doctor Strange. Scott Derrickson will be directing, but no news on who will actually be Doctor Strange.
May 5, 2017…the untitled Guardians of the Galaxy sequel
July 6, 2017 Black Panther (got a special post for this one) starring Chadwick Boseman.
July 28, 2017 – yet to be titled Marvel Studios/Sony Spider-Man film set in the Marvel Studios cinematic universe. Andrew Garfield will be replaced.
Nov. 3, 2017 Thor: Ragnorak” Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige explains “Ragnarok means ‘The end of all things'”
November 2018…CAPTAIN MARVEL – Captain Marvel has gone by many names…this character’s name is Carol Danvers”
AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR: Part 1, May 4, 2018
Avengers: Infinity War, Part 2, May 3, 2019
Feige said he wanted to announce the news at San Diego Comic-Con 2014, but things hadn’t come together until recently, but after today’s news, all is forgiven.
Despite the rumors, no news on “World War Hulk.” Feige said “We’ll see. For now, he’ll be appearing with his friends in the other films.” Also, don’t look for a Black Widow standalone anytime soon either. “Like Hulk, her role will be in the Avengers films,” but Feige said there are plans in which Black Widow is a key, key role.
nerdgasm man… lawd!!! dc who?
Yeah man. It’s almost comical now thinking of how DC can respond.
I am very excited about Black Panther and Chadwick Boseman. But will he be wearing a mask the entire time? I’m not very familiar with the Black Panther comic book character. Jeff it’s great to see you put all the breaking comic book related news right on your blog – what a great way for someone like me to be able to look at one location to find the latest news!
For the record I pronounce my name Zeenah but it’s actually spelled Xena :) Loving you have a full writeup on Chadwick too.
That was the news I was most excited about largely because we could believe the Civil War announcement was just a matter of time with RDJ signed on and the Infinity War could realistically be two movies, but it was seeming to be a bit dicey when they could work in a Black Panther film and have him be a part of Infinity War.
Hey Zena
In the comic, BP wears his mask while fighting, but typically has it off like other heroes when he’s not in battle.
and he doesnt have to hide his identity if he doesnt want to. He is king, he is the black panther!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And for as I know most of his family can fight so none of the superheros tropes may apply. Chad hit that gym and get those fighting styles down brotherman.
His mask is never about a secret identity more so than traditional tribal garb.
That is so neat! I’m excited. Maybe this will get more young African American children excited about seeing themselves on movies with special super powers!
