Even on the WWE website it appears the rumors are true. “Macho Man” Randy Savage looks to finally be a lock to join the WWE Hall of Fame. This is long overdue, but sadly isn’t a case of better late than never though since Savage died in 2011.
Like we saw with The Ultimate Warrior, it’s always better to honor these guys too soon because there’s no guarantee they’ll be with us. Wrestlers die much earlier than their athletic peers and they don’t get the luxury of being around for decades after they finally hang up their boots.
According to WWE, Hulk Hogan himself will be inducting Savage into the HOF. That makes sense as the only other guys who would really make sense as major rivals are Ric Flair and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat.
The 2015 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held March 28, the night before WrestleMania 31, at San Jose’s SAP Center. Tickets go on sale at 1p.m. Saturday.
