Chris Pine may be beaming up to a role in the Justice League franchise as the Hal Jordan version of Green Lantern in the Warner Bros./DC Comics movie universe.
Latino Review‘s Umberto Gonzalez broke the news on Instagram that Pine is being heavily considered to play the role of Jordan, the character most closely associated with the character for longtime comics fans.
I’m a big fan of the move. Pine exhibits a lot of the brash charisma Jordan possess in a number of his movies from “Star Trek Into Darkness” to “Horrible Bosses 2” and he’d excel in the role.
There’s been some rumors and interest from other stars, namely Tyrese Gibson who wants to play Green Lantern, but the John Stewart version of the character.
There’s nothing to say that Pine has to be the Green Lantern as Earth alone has four with Jordan, Stewart, Guy Gardner and Kyle Rayner and it’s not unprecedented for the Lanterns to team up. It wouldn’t be the worst move for DC/WB to take advantage of the police beat aspect of the license and pair Jordan with another Lantern, preferably Stewart.
What do you think? Would you prefer to see one Green Lantern and would Pine make the best choice?
