Kingpin (Michael Clarke Duncan, Daredevil)
This is one that I’ve always had a hard time understanding. Fans were at their worst with the casting of Clarke Duncan, an actor with immense and towering presence that fully brought Wilson Fisk to life.
Close-minded fans couldn’t get beyond the skin color using the casting as yet another reason the film failed to live up to expectations.
The film wasn’t nearly the disaster some make it out to be and Duncan’s take on Kingpin certainly didn’t merit any blame. Granted, Duncan’s Kingpin wasn’t as good as Vincent D’Onofrio’s version, but credit that more to superior writing than a bad take from Duncan.
