First look at Vixen coming to Arrow

Megalyn Echikunwoke is bringing the character she’s been voicing on the animated Vixen series to the real(er) Arrow live action series and the CW provided a first look at the hero prior to her debut.

As a fan of Echikunwoke, I’m thrilled she’s getting this crossover opportunity to double dip the role. The costume has that basic leather superhero outfit that’s all the rage now, but I’m glad it retained its comic book color scheme. Vixen will be showing up on Episode 15 – Taken.

Vixen aka Mari McCabe isn’t a stranger to longtime DC fans as she’s been a Justice League member and had a semi-regular stint on the Justice League Unlimited cartoon. Vixen has the power to mimic the abilities of any animal making her one of the more uniquely powered heroes in the DC Universe.

CW Seed has the first season of the animated Vixen available here. I’m very curious how they’ll work Vixen in the show since the animated series has already included her run-ins with both The Flash and Green Arrow. Hopefully the live-action show can incorporate what’s already occurred on the animated version so we don’t have to go through another superhero origin episode.
