Wong to play Wong in Doctor Strange

Benedict Wong, who most audiences saw last year in the hit film The Martian [Blu-ray + Digital HD], has been tapped to play a magical role in Marvel’s upcoming Doctor Strange.

Marvel Studios reportedly announced the Marco Polo star will be playing the role of Doctor Strange’s confidant, assistant and certified tail kicker (as needed).

Wong joins the cast, which includes Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular character, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One along with Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg, Scott Adkins, Amy Landecker and Mads Mikkelsen for the Nov.4, film directed by Scott Derrickson Sinister 2. If this leads to a Wong Marvel Legends action figure I’ll be convinced we’re living in the absolute best era to be an action figure collector.
