Straight Outta Compton’s Corey Hawkins to play lead in new 24 spin-off

Corey Hawkins is leaving Compton and headed to CTU. The Straight Outta Compton star is going to be in the lead role for FOX’s new 24:Legacy pilot.Hawkins won’t be Jack Bauer, hopefully allowing for a cameo from star Keifer Sutherland down the road. Hawkins will be playing Army vet Eric Carter.

This is a casting decision I’m very excited about as Hawkins has been a young talent I’ve been eagerly following his career after first seeing him in Non-Stop, Compton and his semi-regular role on The Walking Dead.

I was a die-hard 24 junkie as it was the first show I had to watch in marathon fashion. Young kids today call it binging. Considering FOX brought back The X-Files for a limited run there’s no reason to suspect the pilot won’t get greenlit for a season order.
