SAG Awards realize winners come in all colors

While #OscarsSoWhite has dominated the cinematic award season conversation with no minority nominated in the four acting categories, the Screen Actors Guild actually got it right by honoring performers of numerous races.

It wasn’t a night of a “make-good” for the Oscar snubs so much as recognizing a more diverse field of actors. And for the numerous stars who felt slighted and that the Academy Awards wasn’t representative of them, the SAG Awards definitely seemed like a more in touch with life in 2016 event than the Oscars.

Idris Elba was one of the nights big winners earning an Outstanding Male Actor Supporting role for his incendiary performance in Beasts of No Nation and Male Actor TV Movie or Miniseries for Luther.
