After months battling Vince McMahon’s Corporation to get a shot at the title he never rightfully lost, Stone Cold Steve Austin reached the end of The Corporation Gauntlet to battle its Corporate Champion — The Rock. The hated rivals’ feud over the Intercontinental Title nearly two years ago now evolved to the WWF’s top prize.
In a memorable encounter — the first of the Austin/Rock Wrestlemania trilogy, Stone Cold once again left Wrestlemania as the new WWF champion.

With Stone Cold sidelined and forced to miss Wrestlemania the defiant WWF champion Triple H looked to defy the odds and retain his title in a Fatal Four Way featuring a McMahon in every corner. Big Show had Shane McMahon for support, Mick Foley had the backing of Linda McMahon in his once in a lifetime moment to main event Wrestlemania and The Rock had WWF Chairman Vince McMahon seeking to balance the odds of Triple H with Stephanie McMahon.
Just as The Rock seemed poised to defeat his longtime rival, he was reminded of a valuable lesson Stone Cold tried to impart on him years ago — DTA – Don’t Trust Anyone especially a McMahon.
At the dawn of the buyout of WCW and ECW folding, The Rock and Stone Cold clashed once again with the familiar roles of The Rock as champion hoping to stave off the challenge of Stone Cold. On edge after failing to regain his title on numerous occasions, Austin proved there was no price he wasn’t willing to pay in order to get back the WWF title — even if it meant siding with his most hated rival Vince McMahon.
Chris Jericho entered Wrestlemania as the undisputed world champion having defeated Stone Cold and The Rock on the same night. Now he faced the last member of the Attitude Era’s main event triumvirate as he prepared to battle Triple H. Fresh off a lengthy stint on the injury list and a Royal Rumble win, The Game wasn’t going to let Jericho stop him from regaining the title even if Jericho was now aided by his wife, Stephanie McMahon.
[A 2000 era Triple H is one of my biggest Mattel wants and an Undisputed era Jericho isn’t far done either]
